Forschungsvereinigung Elektrotechnik beim ZVEI e. V. (FE) presents data spaces of the future at the ZVEI Digital R:Evolution Day in Berlin

  • Three research projects, one goal: SmartLivingNEXT, Factory X and Drive 4.0 demonstrate how data spaces enable innovation, interoperability and new business models.
  • Data as a competitive factor: Only through specially developed data spaces can industrial AI, secure data availability, and thus the future viability of German industry become feasible.
  • Frankfurt am Main, September 22, 2025

On September 24, 2025, the FE will present three research projects at the ZVEI Digital R:Evolution Day at the Quadriga Forum in Berlin that demonstrate how data spaces can serve as a digital backbone for innovation and competitiveness in industry. Four demonstrators will demonstrate how data spaces can be specifically designed for different application areas:

    • SmartLivingNEXT uses two central prototypes to demonstrate how artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent data rooms can make living in the future more comfortable, efficient, and sustainable.
    • Factory X develops data spaces for industry that enable secure and interoperable data availability across company boundaries – a crucial step for digital value chains.
    • Drive 4.0 makes data from industrial drives available that were previously proprietary. Through their networking and evaluation, new business models and efficiency potentials emerge.

“Only through interoperable data spaces can data be utilized to its full extent. They are the foundation for industrial AI and ensure Germany’s long-term competitiveness,” emphasizes Stefan Bergstein, Managing Director of FE.

The three demonstrators can be experienced live at the ZVEI Digital R:Evolution Day. In addition, stakeholders from politics, business, and science will discuss key future issues – from industrial AI and data-based innovations in healthcare and mobility to a competitive, scalable European single data market. Journalists are cordially invited to visit the site to gain an insight into the technologies and to talk to those responsible for the project.

    When: September 24, 2025 from 2:00 p.m.

Where: Quadriga Forum, Werderscher Markt 15, 10117 Berlin
